ZLIB × LEAN / ALGORITHM DETAIL & VERIFICATION

Streaming state and wrappers

Understand why one task spans calls and how it resumes after a pause.

THE JOB OF THIS COMPONENT

Applications often divide a large task into input and output batches. When input or output space runs out, stream state remembers the progress so a later call can continue with new buffers. Zlib and gzip headers and trailers belong to the same task.

The first 2 chapters explain algorithms, data layouts, and optimizations. The final chapter connects the proof argument. Read in order or enter from a familiar stage.

    IMPLEMENTATION DETAIL

    Wrappers, dictionaries, and integrity

Interpret headers, trailers, dictionary requests, and integrity information.
